The economical reasonability of low-quality coal of Lviv-Volyn’ coal fields as the power fuel for the power production by thermal power plants of the region is motivated. Absolutely new approach to the whole-sale price forming of the solid fuel is proposed, based on the cost of the potential thermal energy, containing in that or the other type of the fuel.
