Item Adaptive controlling of power boiler(Видавництво Національного університету "Львівська політехніка", 2004) Wojcik, W.; Kalita, M.; Smolarz, A.This paper presents research on adaptive control (AC) of combastion process in in¬dustry. Results were obtained from research conducted in laboratory combustion chamber with usage of Fiber Optical Measurement System (FOMS) with electronic block. Simulation proved that implementing AC and FOMS to burning process improves flue gasses parameters -direct measure of power boiler ecologic and economical quality of work.Item Analysis of the participation of the refraction index change under the influence of the temperature and the thermal expansion of the sensors based on fiber bragg gratings(Видавництво Національного університету «Львівська політехніка», 2004) Wojcik, W.; Kisaia, P.In this article calculations concerning FBG (Fiber Bragg Gratings) parameters, designed for the temperature sensors construction, are presented. As a result of the thermal expansion of the material, in which the grating is described, the temperature influence manifests itself in grating’s dimensions change, and as a consequence in grating’s period change. The change of the reflection wavelength is a result of such behaviour. Moreover the temperature has also an influence on the refractive index change of the FBG and in consequence the change of the wavelength. In this work we have made the analysis participation of thermal expansion as well as refraction index change, which influence the reflected wavelength. Our considerations include the problem of optimization the conversion characteristic.Item Assessment of pulverised coal and secondary fuel mixtures combustion using image processing(Видавництво Національного університету «Львівська політехніка», 2004) Golec, T.; Wojcik, W.; Kotyra, A.; Hotra, Z.Air stepping, which takes place in pulverised-coal burners, makes combustion less stable. Such a situation may lead to shifting the flame, unstable combustion and eventually to extinguishing of the flame. Adding secondary fuels such as waste fuels and biomass spoils combustion stability and leads to increasing corrosion and boiler slagging. Spatial distribution of radiation intensity (flame shape) and its changes in time domain deliver the quickest and straight information of combustion process itself. We have utilised flame images taken by CCD camera in a several combustion tests to find flame shape features, which would point a state of unstable combustion.Item Digital controller for diesel engines(Національний університет Львівська політехніка, 2004) Wojcik, W.; Hotra, Z.; Zyska, T.; Smolarz, А.; Kotyra, A.Air stepping, which takes place in pulverised-coal burners, makes combustion less stable. The article describes attempts to obtain information about levels of emission of NOx and CO from the signals of the fiber-optic flame monitoring system developed in the Department of Electronics of the Lublin University of Technology. Artificial neural networks are used for estimation of emission. The article contains description of an object and the measurement system as well as results of research of nitrogen oxides and carbon monoxide modelling.
