Item A comparison of genetic algorithm and immune algorithm in optimization of one typical axial flux permanent magnet motor(Видавництво Львівської політехніки, 2011) Alishahi, Ehsan; Ali Saket, Mohammad; Moghaddami, MasoodРermanent magnets motors are widely used in the industry due to their high efficiency and their small sizes. Axial flux permanent magnet motors are new generation of permanent magnet motors and they are mainly used as propulsion of electrical vehicles. First in this paper, equations which are related to design of one typical slot less bidirectional axial flux motor have been proposed. These equations have been used in order to optimize key parameters of motor with two optimization methods: genetic algorithm and immune algorithm. Finally results have been presented and one can see that immune algorithm is better than genetic algorithm in optimization of this kind of motor.Item A novel on electricity market modeling based on game theory according to physical constraints(Видавництво Львівської політехніки, 2011) Khodabakhsh, JavadThis paper conduct a general comparative study on game theory based models for electricity market performance according to network physical constraints. The power sources will simultaneously provide electricity and will also store energy in a suitable storage medium (batteries). A central controller will distribute the collected power to the locality or store it as needed. The proposed model is suitable for tropical regions since both solar and wind energies are incorporated into the system. Since the geographical local of Bangladesh favors harvesting both these renewable sources of energy, this system can be ideal for places where electricity is still unknown.Item Designing the feedback system for a DC motor to control its angular movement and speed using microcontroller(Видавництво Львівської політехніки, 2011) Raquib, Ahmed; Brian, D’ RozarioIn today’s world, technology is evolving fast and with expensive and complicated equipments we are able to achieve greater accuracy. This paper presents a simplified and an inexpensive model for replacing more complicated feedback systems like optical encoder using a laser unit, a Light Dependent Resistor (LDR) and a microcontroller in an environment where very high accuracy is not required. Usually it is very difficult to control the speed of a DC motor since it varies with the supplied voltage, but this feedback system can be used to control the movement angle and speed of a DCmotor.Item Differential evolutionary algorithm for distribution capacitor allocation considering varying load conditions(Видавництво Львівської політехніки, 2011) Karimi, MohammadMany loads in power systems are inductive loads then consume reactive power, this fact lead to drop voltage and in worst case blackout and collapse voltage. Mostafa; Ebrahimi, Asqar; Malahzadeh, AlirezaThe aim of the study is to codify a computational procedure for the study and analysis of the wireless power transfer between two helical wire antennas. Using this method, we can study the effective factors such as distance, loading and antennas’ sizes on wireless power transfer and delineate the conditions which maximize the efficiency of the wireless power transfer. In the suggested method, using the applied method of moment (MOM) in FEKO software, current distribution and scattering parameters of a two-port wireless power transfer system for different distances are determined. Subsequently, using circuit analysis, we appoint the efficiency of wireless power transfer for different amounts of load resistance and different amounts of transfer distances and the angles between the axle of two helixes and then we compare them with each other. Using repeater helical wire which has the similar structure of the previous helix structures, we can improve the efficiency of wireless power transfer in 3meter distance to 35 percent.Item Modeling one typical digital differential relay in the MATLAB(Видавництво Львівської політехніки, 2011) Ali Saket, Mohammad; Moghaddami, Masood; Alishahi, EhsanDifferential relays are widely used in the Power networks as a protection for power transformers, bus bars and generators. Mostafa; Ebrahimi, Asqar; Malahzadeh, AlirezaThe aim of the study is to transfer power wirelessly through the resonance of the source and the device antennas. Since transferring system frequency from the frequency of the antenna resonance strongly decreases power transfer efficiency, in this paper, a wireless power transfer system consisting of two helix resonance antennas is analyzed through quasi-static approximation in a circuit model and among the scientific papers; few works have been done in this regard. The presented circuit model reveals the difference between the two possible driving methods in wireless power transfer systems via coupled resonances. It also shows that the presented quasi-static approximation of wire helix resonant frequency is in a good agreement with the experimental results. In addition, the equivalent circuit elements of the wireless power transfer system via strongly coupled resonances are presented and measured to improve the transferred power and the maximum quality factor.Item Solution of optimal capacitor placement problem using improved differential evolutionary algorithm on radial networks(Видавництво Львівської політехніки, 2011) Karimi, Mohammad; Shayeghi, HosseinThe capacitor placement problem consists of determining the optimal numbers, types, locations and sizes of capacitor banks such that minimum yearly cost due to power/energy losses and cost of capacitors is achieved, while the operational and power quality constraints are maintained within the required limits. With the advent of more and more semiconductor based equipments, the power quality standards have been re-written. There are many causes of power quality problems, voltage sags/swells, harmonics, fast impulses or subcycle impulses, neutral to ground high frequency noise etc. Some of these occur very frequently and cause problems and others (such as 1 nanosecond or 0.5 nanosecond impulses) either occur very rarely or cause problems rarely. It is important to evaluate power quality level and identify the source of faults that origin electrical disturbances in electrical power systems, which determines the responsibility of a bad quality of power. In order to evaluate and identify the disturbances and its origin, power quality monitoring is the tool that utilities and customers can use. This paper attempts to review the power quality issues including ways of monitoring power quality and also the effect of harmonics on power quality.
