Стаття присвячена дослідженню історії єврейської громади в Харкові та вивченню ролі, яку синагоги відіграли у її житті. Зосереджуючись на значенні синагог як центрів духовного та культурного життя, стаття вказує на їхню важливість у формуванні культурного ландшафту міста. Через аналіз історичних джерел та документів стаття розгортає перед читачем процес розвитку єврейської спільноти в Харкові та виклики, яких вона зазнала протягом років. На перших етапах розвитку Харкова єврейська спільнота була невід’ємною складовою міського життя. Синагоги стали місцем зібрання не лише для релігійних церемоній, а й для обміну новинами, дискусій та важливих рішень для спільноти.
