    Dissolved organic matter removal by coagulation using aluminium sulphate

    Wastewater from plywood hydrothermal basin is characterized by the high degree of contamination. The basic contaminating components of this wastewater are hemicelluloses, lignin and extractives of wood (HLE). The main objective of this research was to investigate the efficiency of coagulation process for removing HLE. Aluminium sulphate as coagulant was examined in bench scale jar test studies. The effects of pH, coagulant dosages and temperature were studied.
