How to Manage Anti-trafficking Public Information Campaign

This chapter is devoted to the problem of choosing methods for social information campaigns being powerful tools for changing public opinion and influencing the behavior of the population. Theoretical approaches to the understanding of information campaigns are given. The authors outline a set of main indicators for analyzing social campaigns considering practical aspects: purpose-objectives, target audience, duration, location, partners, communication channels, quality of a message, etc. The latter were used to examine the counter-trafficking campaign, conducted at the initiative of the Government of Ukraine in 2018. Its key features are highlighted, focusing on its effectiveness within two coordinated initiatives. В розділі вивчається проблема вибору методів для проведення соціальних інформаційних кампаній як потужних інструментів зміни громадської думки та впливу на поведінку населення. Розглянуто теоретичні підходи до визначення інформаційної кампанії. Автори виділили перелік параметрів для аналізу практики соціальних кампаній, враховуючи: мету-задачі, цільову аудиторію, тривалість, локацію, партнерів, канали комунікації, якість повідомлення тощо. Вони були використані для огляду урядової інформаційної кампанії з протидії торгівлі людьми, яка проводилась в Україні у 2018 р. Показано особливості кампанії з огляду на ефективність двох скоординовах програм.
Intellectual Property Commercialization Management as Innovative Activity of Scientific Institutions

This chapter examines the functions of departments for technology transfer, innovative activity and intellectual property. They were established by the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine within its scientific institutions. Competence and primary tasks of the latter are examined based upon the Framework Regulation approved by the Presidium. Two working cycles of the departments in respect to the objects of intellectual property rights are described. Such functions as initiative, identifying, acquisition and transfer are discussed. Results from this study will enable managers of the departments to perform their tasks regarding the commercialization of intellectual property much more efficiently. It leads to the advancement of manufacturing processes through the widespread use of patented technologies. У цьому розділі розглядаються функції відділів трансферу технологій, інноваційної діяльності та інтелектуальної власності. Вони створені Національною академією наук України у складі її наукових установ. Компетенція та основні завдання таких відділів вивчаються на підставі розпорядження Президії. Описано два цикли роботи відділів щодо об'єктів права інтелектуальної власності. Конкретизовано такі функції, як ініціатива, ідентифікація, набуття прав та передача. Результати цього дослідження дозволять керівникам відділів набагато ефективніше виконувати свої завдання щодо комерціалізації інтелектуальної власності. Своє чергою це сприятиме вдосконаленню виробничих процесів завдяки ширшому використанню запатентованих технологій.
Why Did the States of the Visegrad Group Were Alleged to Apply Double Standards When Helping Asylum Seekers and Refugees from Ukraine

This chapter is dedicated to state policies and practice regarding attitude towards asylum seekers and refugees. It focuses on the evaluation of the treatments of Ukrainians and Non-Ukrainians by the Visegrad states, which has been described as operating “double standards”. It discusses those allegations concerning different approaches to different groups of people. The author introduces the main features of relevant allegations, which include the following: evaluative statements, reactions to challenging behavior, presumed discrimination on the ground of human rights, the conflict of inconsistency. The results of the present research may be further useful in counteracting manipulation with the usage of evaluative statements about double standards. Moreover, they contribute to providing more conscious responses to relevant accusations by officials. Цей розділ присвячується державній політиці та практикам щодо ставлення до шукачів притулку та біженців. Вивчається оцінка ставлення до українців та неукраїнців з боку країн Вишеградської групи, охарактеризованого як наявні «подвійні стандарти». У дослідженні розглядаються обвинувачення щодо застосування різних підходів до різних груп людей. Автор систематизує та пояснює основні ознаки відповідних обвинувачень, серед яких: оціночні твердження, реакції на поведінку, яка кидає виклик, припустима дискримінація за ознакою прав людини, конфлікт непослідовності. Результати цього дослідження можуть стати в подальшому корисними для протидії маніпуляціям з використанням оціночних тверджень про подвійні стандарти. Крім того, вони сприяють більш свідомому реагуванню на відповідні обвинувачення з боку чиновників.
