This situation creates serious environmental problems that require clear strategies for managing this waste. Improving the efficiency of recycling to restore quality materials, saving resources and maintaining waste in landfills are among the most pressing problems of our time. The article considers the existing methods of solid waste management in order to select the most optimal waste management system in the context of sustainable development.Item Composting as one of the prospective methods of recycling the organic component of municipal solid waste(Видавництво Львівської політехніки, 2020-02-24) Storoshchuk, Ulana; Malovanyy, Myroslav; Tymchuk, Ivan; Lviv Polytechnic National UniversityIn the conditions of constant deterioration of the environment, municipal solid waste management (MSW) in Ukraine remains one of the most pressing challenges in environmental safety because of its significant accumulation in landfills and the lack of effective mechanisms for its disposal. Approximately 40–50 % of municipal solid waste is organic, so the removal of this part of waste from landfills through composting and conversion of waste into secondary material resources will significantly reduce the environmental load on existing and potentially planned landfills. Therefore, the choice of promising technologies for the disposal of organic waste is one of the major tasks to ensure environmental safety. One of the effective strategies for dealing with excessive amounts of organic waste and one of the best and most affordable technologies for the waste recycling system is composting.Item Conditions for cyanobacteria biomass development and selection for further processing(Видавництво Львівської політехніки, 2017-12-23) Soloviy, Khrystyna; Malovanyy, Myroslav; Lviv Polytechnic National UniversityThe purpose of research is to define place of cyanobacteria in the system of micro and macroalgae, discover peculiarities for conditions of their development and biomass selection fur further processingItem Danger pollution of the hydrosphere ammonium salts(Lviv Polytechnic Publishing House, 2016) Malovanyy, Myroslav; Petrushka, Kateryna; Lviv Polytechnic National UniversityThe paper is devoted to the danger pollution of the hydrosphere ammonium salts. It has been shown that encapsulated fertilizers of prolonged action are the effective type of fertilizers that enable to achieve rich harvests and simultaneously consistently reduce the load on the agricultural system. Balance calculations on evaluating the agricultural system contamination level in case of implementing granulated and encapsulated fertilizers have been carried out. It has been shown that in case of using encapsulated fertilizers instead of granulated fertilizers, the environmental contamination caused by excessive nutrition elements of mineral fertilizers indigested by the plants decreases almost fourfold. Pilot experiments on using such cultures as potato, soy, and maize have proven that the effectiveness of using encapsulated fertilizers in comparison with granulated fertilizers under condition of less expenses of mineral fertilizer is 30–50 % higher.
