As a result of a country’s hard economic situation our enterprises are made to exploit the drives which have been once or more repaired. Such electric drives come out of order in a short period of time. The reason is overheating. Introduction of a fail-safe temperature protection is a required and compulsory condition for normal and reliable operating of electric drives. An actual issue in designing protection systems is creating an intellectual structure of protection. Direct measuring of windings temperature can provide an error that depends on the location of thermal sensor.
