Item Modelling the process of sedimentation with the use of numerical methods(Видавництво Національного університету “Львівська політехніка”, 2005-03-01) Kolodziejczyk, K.; AGH University of Science and Technology, KrarowThe aim of works, which are contained in the article, is checking the correctness and the quality of simulation of sedimentation process reached results with the use of numerical methods. The author wanted to determine on the level of differences between calculation results with the use of CFD methods and results reached in the real system. Results of sedimentation process simulation are shown with use of certain parameters of particle composition. Used measurement techniques were analyzed whether they are useful for the industrial suspended particle fluids analyses.Item The various influence of changes of the suspensions concentration on the process of their sedimentation(Видавництво Національного університету “Львівська політехніка”, 2005-03-01) Kowalski, W.; Banaś, M.; AGH University of Science and Technology, KrarowA research of the grain constitution of the polidyspersant suspension as a function of its concentration is presented. Both the theoretical deliberation and the laboratory research have confirmed, that – at a certain range of concentration – an increase of the particles’ settling velocity occurs, which is raising the sedimentation efficiency. That increase may even decrease the particles’ concentration in the cleared suspension in spite of the increase of the concentration of the solid phase particles in the suspension being cleared.
