    Thermoluminescent properties of Mn-doped YAP ceramics

    The work is devoted to synthesis of Mn-doped YAlO3 (YAP) ceramics by common solid-state reaction and their characterization by photoluminescence and thermoluminescence techniques. An impact of the synthesis conditions on the thermoluminescence (TL) efficiency of the ceramics is analyzed from the point of view of possible application of the material for TL dosimetry of ionizing radiation.

    Spectroscopy of gadolinium gallium garnet doped with cerium under high hydrostatic pressure

    Studies of the spectroscopic properties of Ce3+ dopant in bulk Gd3Ga5O12:Ce crystal under pressure are presented. In spite of strong inter-shell 4f ® 5d absorption bands at ambient pressure the cerium luminescence in Gd3Ga5O12 is entirely quenched even at low temperature. It has been shown that applying pressure allows for recovering the 5d ® 4f radiative transitions. Further increase of pressure improves the emission efficiency. This effect is analyzed in terms of two possible phenomena: (i) by pressure-induced electronic crossover of the excited 5d energy level of the Ce3+ with the conduction band bottom of host crystal, and (ii) by decrease of electron-lattice coupling with increasing pressure, resulting in reducing of Stokes shift and non-radiative transitions between the low vibrational levels of the 5d state and high vibrational levels of the ground 4f state.

    Crystal and twin structure of LSGMn-05 anode material for SOFC

    The structure of perovskite-type La0.95Sr0.05Ga0.95Mn0.05O3-x crystals has been investigated using high-resolution X-ray powder diffraction technique in the temperature range of 298–1173 К. A phase transition from orthorhombic (Pbnm) to rhombohedral (R 3 c) has been detected near 340 К. A chevron-like configuration of ferroelastic domain structure was observed in rhombohedral La0.95Sr0.05Ga0.95Mn0.05O3-x crystal using the Laue technique. The chevron-like pattern is formed by the intersection of Wtype domain walls (211), (101) and (110).
