    Synthesis and luminescent investigation of the Sr3LaTa3O12 layered perovskite

    The Sr3LaTa3O12 layered powdered perovskitelike compounds were obtained by heat treatment of coprecipitated hydroxy-carbonates. Photoluminescent (PL) properties of the Sr3LaTa3O12 were investigated at the first time. Strongly overlapped components peaked at 535, 585 and 630 nm compos emission spectra of the materials under study. The luminescent data were analyzed and preliminary assumptions about origin of given spectra have been made.

    Electronic structure and luminescence mechanisms in MIMIII(MoO4)2 molybdates

    The mechanisms of intrinsic luminescence in several molybdate crystals of MIMIII(MoO4)2 (MI = Li, Na, K; MIII =Bi, Y, Fe) type are revealed in complex experimental and theoretical studies. The luminescence spectroscopy studies under VUV synchrotron excitations are applied together with the electronic structure calculations carried out by the FLAPW method. Simultaneous analysis of diffuse reflectance and luminescence excitation spectra is used for determination of the energy gap (Eg) values of the crystals. It is found that the molybdate groups MoO4 2- play dominant role in the processes of intrinsic luminescence in studied molybdate compounds.
