Structural and magnetic characterization of functional surface coated maghemite nanoparticles
    (Видавництво Львівської політехніки, 2012) Demchenko, P.; Mitina, N.; Zaichenko, A.; Nedelko, N.; Lewińska, S.; Ślawska-Waniewska, A.; Dłużewski, P.; Bilska, M.; Ubizskii, S.
Nanoparticles composed of magnetic γ-Fe2O3 core and organic shell were synthesized via template synthesis in the presence of functional oligoperoxide surfactants and further graft-polymerization initiated from their surface. X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and magnetic measurements (PPMS) were used to characterize the obtained magnetic system of core-shell nanoparticles. XRD results confirm the existence of γ-Fe2O3 phase as well as show an average diameter of nanoparticles around 10 nm. The obtained particles are superparamagnetic at the room temperature. Magnetic measurements indicate also sufficiently strong dipolar interparticle interactions at low temperatures.

On the application of chalcogenide glasses in temperature sensors
    (Видавництво Львівської політехніки, 2012) Shpotyuk, M.; Chalyy, D.; Shpotyuk, O.; Iovu, M.; Andriesh, A.; Vakiv, M.; Ubizskii, S.
In this paper we report about a possibility of application of chalcogenide glasses as active media in optoelectronic temperature sensors. All investigations were performed on a sample of Ge18As18Se64 chalcogenide glass as typical covalent network glass with rigid structure. Temperature dependence of optical transmission in the fundamental optical absorption edge region was studied through the glass transition interval. A monotone increasing temperature dependence of position of the fundamental optical absorption edge at the half maximum of its intensity was observed through the whole investigated temperature range as well as quasi-linear dependence upon the temperature in the region below glass transition.

The heat generation processes in Q-switched YAG:Nd/YAG:Cr microchip laser and their influence on the parameters of laser radiation
(Видавництво Львівської політехніки, 2012) Buryy, O.; Ubizskii, S.
The heat generation processes are considered for passively Q-switched YAG:Nd/YAG:Cr microchip laser. The distributions of the temperature, the refractive index and the deformations of laser crystal are determined. At the given profile of refractive index and deformations of the active element, the laser beam radius and the divergence are calculated.

The dependence of optical properties of LiNbO3 crystal on the impurity content studied toward the advancement of volume holographic data storage technology
    (Видавництво Львівської політехніки, 2012) Yükselici, M. H.; Asıkoğlu, A.; Bulut, D.; Sugak, D.; Solskii, I.; Syvorotka, I.; Zhydachevskii, Ya.; Ubizskii, S.; Buryy, O.
Research on holographic data storage has been carried out by using continuous wave laser at 632.8. The erasure time constants for continuous readout have been determined. Defect structures of congruent lithium niobate crystal heat-treated at high temperature were identified by optical absorption spectroscopy and the effect of defect bands modified by high temperature heat treatment on the continuous illumination life time of holograms stored in the crystal were studied.
