(Lviv Politechnic Publishing House, 2020) Melnyk, Anatoliy; Morozov, Yuriy; Havano, Bohdan; Hupalo, Petro; Lviv Polytechnic National University; The John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin
Coronavirus has the greatest effect on the human lungs. This is why lungs of patients with COVID 19 require constant medical monitoring. One of the tools for the lungs condition monitoring is based on the wireless pulse oximeters connected to smartphones. The re is an attempt to analyze the types of pulse oximeters, their technical characteristics, principles of operation and basic requirements for these measuring instruments in the article. According to this study, the most effective pulse oximeters for 24/7 monitoring of lung function were selected. Principles of pulse oximeter functioning and mathematical basis of its operation have been described. The criteria for pulse oximeter selection have been determined, and comparative analysis of pulse oximeters with wireless communication has been conducted.

Ordered access memory and its application in parallel processors
(Lviv Politechnic Publishing House, 2017-12-03) Melnyk, Anatoliy; Lviv Polytechnic National University
In this paper, after analyzing the known memory access methods, conventional memory organization and its challenging problems, we propose new ordered memory access method and a new type of memory – the ordered access memory. This method is aimed at working with data arrays and provides memory access in the prescribed manner. Proposed method unlike widely used method of sequential memory access allows extending the functionality of the memory as it provides not only sequential, but also any other ordered memory access. Unlike another widely used method of address memory access, the implementation of the proposed method provides parallel conflict-free memory access. It also allows eliminating data binding to a specific memory location that makes it possible to disintegrate the apparatus for data ordering and eliminates the need to store addresses of locations the data are placed in, and the need to submit the address to the address inputs during data writing and reading. The new method distinctive features compared to the known memory access methods are considered. Input data, their indices and output data of the ordered access memory are described as well as the approaches to this type of memory design and use. The interface of the ordered access memory is considered as well as its advances compared to the random, associative, and sequential access memories. An example of the ordered access memory usage in application-specific processors with parallel and pipeline structures is demonstrated and the results of the ordered access memory implementation in FPGA are considered.

Parallel ordered-access machine computational model and architecture
(Publishing House of Lviv Polytechnic National University, 2016) Melnyk, Anatoliy; Lviv Polytechnic National University
The article presents the new computational model which we name the parallel ordered-access machine because of its base – the parallel ordered-access memory. It also describes the computer architecture which implements proposed computational model and owing to this does not have such a limitation as the memory wall and provides parallel conflict-free memory access. The efficiency of the proposed ordered-access machine computational model is evaluated and an example of its implementation is presented.

Tasks scaling with Chameleon© C2HDL design tool in self-configurable Computer Systems based on partially reconfigurable FPGAs
(Publishing House of Lviv Polytechnic National University, 2016) Melnyk, Anatoliy; Melnyk, Viktor; Tsyhylyk, Liubomyr
The FPGA-based accelerators and reconfigurable computer systems based on them require designing the application-specific processor soft-cores and are effective for certain classes of problems only, for which application-specific processor soft-cores were previously developed. In Self-Configurable FPGA-based Computer Systems the problem of designing the application-specific processor soft-cores is solved with use of the C2HDL tools, allowing them to be generated automatically. In this paper, we study the questions of the self-configurable computer systems efficiency increasing with use of the partially reconfigurable FPGAs and Chameleon© C2HDL design tool. One of the features of the Chameleon© C2HDL design tool is its ability to generate a number of applicationspecific processor soft-cores executing the same algorithm that differ by the amount of FPGA resources required for their implementation. If the self-configurable computer systems are based on partially reconfigurable FPGAs, this feature allows them to acquire in every moment of its operation such a configuration that will provide an optimal use of its reconfigurable logic at a given level of hardware multitasking.
