    Theoretical and practical aspects of the efficiency of application of mineral fertilizers encapsulated with polyethylene terephthalate

    The environmental impact of residual mineral fertilizers not utilized by plants is analyzed. It is shown that this negative effect extends to all elements of the environment: soil, atmosphere, hydrosphere. The perspective of the application of encapsulated mineral fertilizers that allow prolonged release of plant nutrients is outlined. The appliccation of modified polyethylene terephthalate (PETF) as a capsule-forming material for encapsulated mineral fertilizers is proposed. PET modification and fertilizer encapsulation technologies have been tested. The dynamics of the release of nutrients from fertilizers encapsulated by PET has been studied. The kinetics of watercress salad growth with the use of granular and encapsulated fertilizers has been investigated.

    Problem of disposal of organochlorine waste of vinyl chloride production

    The sources of organochlorine waste formation, its toxicity, and environmental impact are analyzed, and methods of its disposal are considered. The composition of insoluble compounds in the stillage residues of the dichloroethane rectification stage before incineration is determined, and the method of their extraction is proposed. It is established that the use of oxalic and hydrochloric acids as extractants significantly reduces the iron content in the stillage residues of the rectification column, which allows increasing the duration of operation of the organochlorine waste incineration equipment.

    Study of the properties of anp fertilizer encapsulated with the use of modified waste of pet

    The experimental investigation of the solubility of the prolonged-action nitroamophos obtained with the use of modified polyethylene terephthalate (PET) waste is presented. The kinetic coefficients of the diffusion process of the substances inside the shell are determined. The possibility of applying a theoretical model to predict the agro-ecological properties of encapsulated ammonium nitrate phosphate is demonstrated.

    Improvement of environmental safety of agricultural systems as a result of encapsulated mineral fertilizers implementation

    The impact of mineral fertilizers on an agricultural system has been analyzed. It has been shown that encapsulated fertilizers of prolonged action are the effective type of fertilizers that enable to achieve rich harvests and simultaneously consistently reduce the load on the agricultural system. Balance calculations on evaluating the agricultural system contamination level in case of implementing granulated and encapsulated fertilizers have been carried out. It has been shown that in case of using encapsulated fertilizers instead of granulated fertilizers, the environmental contamination caused by excessive nutrition elements of mineral fertilizers indigested by the plants decreases almost fourfold. Pilot experiments on using such cultures as potato, soy, and maize have proven that the effectiveness of using encapsulated fertilizers in comparison with granulated fertilizers under condition of less expenses of mineral fertilizer is 30–50 % higher.

    Water sorption purification from ammonium pollution

    Water sorption purification from ammonium pollution has been investigated. The sorption ability of natural clay sorbents has been characterized. The isotherms of ammonium ions adsorption by natural zeolites, palyhorskyties and glauconites were plotted. It was established that water purification from ammonium ions mainly corresponds to the model of surface diffusion at non-linear isotherm. Досліджено процеси сорбційного очищення води від амонійного забруднення. Охарактеризовано сорбційну здатність природного глинистих сорбентів. Побудовано ізотерми адсорбції йонів амонію природними цеолітами, палигорськітами та глауконітами. Визначено,що процес очищення води від йонів амонію переважно відповідає моделям поверхневої дифузії при нелінійній ізотермі.
