The use of bioindication to determine the possibility of sludge recovery after biological treatment of wastewater
(Lviv Politechnic Publishing House, 2018-02-26) Shkvirko, Oksana; Tymchuk, Ivan; Malovanyy, Myroslav; Lviv Polytechnic National University
These studies were conducted to test the hypothesis that sewage sludge from Lviv municipal wastewater treatment plants (LMWWTP) facilities can be used to create a substrate that can be used for biological reclamation. The qualitative composition of sewage sludge from Lviv municipal wastewater treatment plants is determined. The study of bioindication of a mixture of sludge with dark gray soil was carried out in two stages, which showed a significant difference between fresh and settled sludge. Possible conditions for the use of sludge in the substrate are presented.

Multispectral ecological control of biomass of phytoplankton in aqueous media in situ using a quadrocopter
(Lviv Politechnic Publishing House, 2018-02-01) Kvaterniuk, Serhii; Petruk, Vasyl; Vinnytsia National Technical University
The aim of the work is to improve the method and means of multi-spectral ecological control of phytoplankton biomass in water environments in situ using a quadrocopter with a multi-spectral camera. The instrumental and methodological errors of indirect measurements of phytoplankton biomass in the near-surface layer of the aquatic environment using the developed means of environmental control have been analyzed.

Multispectral control of pesticide concentrations in aquatic environments using bioindication on phytoplankton
(Lviv Politechnic Publishing House, 2017-11-12) Kvaternyuk, Sergey; Vinnytsia National Technical University
The aim of the work is to improve the method and means of multispectral measurement of the content of unsuitable chemical plant protection products in aqueous media using bioindication on phytoplankton. The article analyzes the errors of indirect measurements and the reliability of the control of the concentration of pesticides using the developed means of environmental monitoring of integral parameters of pollution of water bodies.

Environmental safety of water bodies and coastal areas using the method of water environment bioindication by means of macrophytes
(Publishing House of Lviv Polytechnic National University, 2016) Bondarchuk, Olga; Petruk, Vasyl; Kvaterniyk, Sergiy
The purpose of this work is to improve the ecological state of water bodies and coastal area of the “Enerhoharant” LLC company by implementing a series of environmental measures based on research of their ecosystems and environmental-economic assessment that will enable largely to solve the problem of optimal use of natural resources for the recreational purposes.

Monitoring of the environmental condition of the natural surface water bodies in northern and northeastern parts of Lviv region was conducted. The investigated water bodies belong to the Western Bug river basin and Baltic Sea basin. The monitoring was conducted by using bioindication, microbiological methods and physicochemical analysis. The most polluted rivers and sources of pollution were defined. Solutions to the environmental pollution problem were proposed.

Bioindication and biotesting methods application for water quality assessment
    (Видавництво Львівської політехніки, 2013) Shved, O. M.
In this article the environmental monitoring of the natural water bodies based on qualitative and quantitative analysis of bioindicative organisms were conducted. Approbation of the sampling methods, techniques and laboratory analysis of biological objects from natural ecosystems were carried out. The next biological objects have been analyzed: periphyton from rocky and stony coasts, algae and meiofaunal organisms (Nematoda, Harpacticoida, Cladocera, Rotifera), and macrobenthos freshwater river-living organisms. Main influences and distribution dependences were found.
