    The article deals with the current problem of the specificity of students' free choice study. Rhetoric as a science and art of effective and expedient communication is often chosen by students of different specialties, so there are certain features of the teacher's work in the "team" student groups. The problem points of this work are analyzed and their ways of overcoming are outlined.

    Функції образності мовлення в комунікативній діяльності оратора

    The article emphasizes that imagery of a speech is a quality, due to which, on the one hand, artistic and aesthetic perfection, expressiveness of expression and on the other hand, imagery contribute to the achievement of clarity, accuracy, and accessibility of speech. Appearance is characteristic of different styles and genres of language and is an important mean for achieving the communicative purpose of the speaker. In the communicative process imagery performs informational, thought-oriented, aesthetic and interpretive functions. By involving imagery in the text of a public statement we achieve the rhetorical competence of a future specialist.
