Abstract
The article deals with lexical and stylistic devices of designation of love image in lyrics of British band “Beatles”. Having analyzed 27 songs we came to the conclusion that lyrics of this band are rich in different linguistic devices such as figures of combination and substitution, repetitions,
contractions and idioms, which were classified and described.
It was also proved that all these devices are indispensable while expressing feelings, emotions and mood in songs, thus emotiveness of a song greatly depends on their usage.
