Abstract
Описано творення архітектурного проекту Першого українського національного
театрального павільйону на Празькому Квадрієнале 2019 засобами макетування та
проблеми, які виникли під час реалізації моделі павільйону.
The article presents the creation of architectural project of the First national Ukrainian theatrical pavilion at Prague Quadrennial 2019 by means of scale modelling and the problems which had to be solved during the realization of the pavilion into a reality. After successful participation of the Department of Architectural environment Design of Lviv Polytechnic National University at PQ15 in the section “Education”, its students and teachers were invited to take part in PQ19 exhibition. Coordinator of the Ukrainian national exhibition decided to design and create the First national Ukrainian theatrical pavilion by the experts and students of the department. Even though for 15 years of its existence the department has gained unique experience in creating the architecture of public buildings, this new task demanded new project skills. A group of authors has been created and supervised by the department chair, professor V. Proskuryakov. He has suggested stopping at the proposal of taking “kupala theatre” as the basis for spatial and active organization in order to arrange “kupala drama”, the origins of which are lost in the hoary antiquity. However, 21st century construction materials, technical and technological equipment as well as virtual possibilities would be used. Students V. Vovk and A. Otkydach were involved in designing draft sketches. Apart from sketches, the supervisor has chosen the preparation of a dimensioned scale model to be the designing method. This work was done by the students M. Loposha and Yu. Cholavyn who had to not only design and prepare the pavilion model but also solve a number of problems which artistic group had during implementing the model into reality and delivery of pavilion constructions to the exhibition in Prague. The main problems were: new fire safety demands by organizers which influenced the materials for preparing the constructions, details, joints; transportation expenses; the need for turning the permanent constructions into detachable ones etc. The authors have solved the issues effectively.
