Abstract
The rational model of democratic transition involves understanding the advantages and
disadvantages of modern scientific discourse, first of all – a sociological one. Without
solving dilemmas between structure and action, network and hierarchy, individualism and
collectivism, conflict and stability it is not possible to build a model of the modern Ukrainian
society. Without knowledge and understanding of the models of the social communication
research the success of democratic transition is impossible.
