Європейські дискурси в неєвропейських лаштунках: формування потколоніальної ідентичності та філософія постструктуралізму

Abstract

Postcolonialism is a form of deconstructive rereading, most usually applied to works of colonizers, demonstrating the dimensions to which texts were consciously covering colonialist purposes. Postcolonial writers use language to deconstruct power structures of their colonizers. Through this practice they reestablish their own unique identity. Unmasking of European authority has been an essential political and cultural strategy towards decolonization. When poststructuralism and postcolonialism accept the idea that a relationship exists between power and language, for the sake of control, a type of symbiotic relationship develops between them. The article discusses the methodological tradition that exists between postcolonial writers Edward Said and Gayatri C. Spivak and their poststructuralist “predecessors”, Michel Foucault and Jacques Derrida.
