Колекція літографованих навчальних видань у фондах бібліотеки Львівської політехніки

Abstract

The collections of the Library of the Politechnika Lwowska contain a few dozen of lithographed publications from the second half of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century – the heritage of the scholars and teachers of the university. They constitute an interesting separate collection of academic textbooks and course books reproduced lithographically. The books that are discussed were published by the students’ Societies and Associations as well as by independent publishers – students, assistants and junior lecturers. The purpose of the presentation is to demonstrate the authors, the thematic range of the publications that are discussed, the substantial and didactic values of the lectures and the textbooks, their chronological range, their editorial aspects as well as the peculiar features of the particular collections against the background of the development of the potential of the city and the scholarly activities and the publishing movement which supported the activities of the university. The present work is devoted to the 170th anniversary of the Politechnika Lwowska.
