The study of properties of soda production wastes as anti-icing reagents
(Видавництво Львівської політехніки, 2022-03-01) Suvorin, Oleksandr; Kravchenko, Inna; Ozheredova, Maryna; Zubtsov, Yevhen; Píštěk, Václav; Volodymyr Dahl East Ukrainian National University
The article considers the possibility of reducing the man-made load on surface and ground waters in Lysychansk- Severodonetsk industrial agglomeration caused by numerous sludge collectors and tailings storage facilities of various industries formed many decades ago. The paper provides information on the location and technical condition of the sludge collectors of the liquidated “LYSSODA” manufacture (Luhansk oblast), the amount of waste currently stored in them as well as the impact of these wastes on the quality of groundwater in the area where the sludge collectors are located. The work shows one of several possible options for using such wastes as a valuable secondary mineral raw material for obtaining a marketable product. The averaged data on the chemical composition of the solid phase of sludge and indicators of the liquid phase composition are given. According to the results of the analysis of scientific and technical information, it has been found that such wastes can ultimately be used for the production of anti-icing reagents. The obtained results of research on the dependence of the freezing point of working solutions on the concentration of salts, including the added corrosion inhibitors (triethanolamine, hexamethylenetetramine), indicate the feasibility of using soda ash production waste to obtain effective liquid anti-icing reagents without a mechanical component, while the optimal amount of added corrosion inhibitors is 0.5 % wt. Such reagents can be used both undiluted at temperatures up to minus 20 °C and strengthened to 15–20 % wt. by calcium chloride at temperatures up to minus 40 °C with consumption on highways at the level of about 100 g/m2 of the treated surface.

Clean utilization of municipal solid wastes and alternative fuels derived from it
(Видавництво Львівської політехніки, 2020-10-10) Topal, Alexander; Holenko, Iryna; Haponych, Luidmyla; Coal Energy Technology Institute of National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine
For the municipal solid waste (MSW) to be used in a proper way, it is necessary to implement clean technologies capable of thermal treatment of MSW and RDF in order to produce heat and electricity while meeting current ecological requirements. Nowadays, a number of technologies for MSW/RDF thermal treating are being used worldwide. Among them, the most proven technologies, applicable for industrial introduction, have been considered while analyzing their advantages/ disadvantages accounting for local conditions of Ukraine.

Ecological problems of enterprises of alcohol industry
(Видавництво Львівської політехніки, 2020-02-10) Havryshko, Marianna; Popovych, Olena; Yaremko, Halyna; Lviv Polytechnic National University
The issue of industrial water treatment and food waste disposal is particularly relevant, especially for the alcohol industry. The problem of wastewater treatment and waste accumulation in the process of alcohol production is due to high chemical and biological oxygen demand, specific colour and odour, a large number of suspended substances, low pH. Therefore, the choice of promising wastewater treatment technologies is of paramount importance to ensure the ecological safety of the environment. The purpose of the paper is 1) to analyze the state of the alcohol industry in Ukraine in recent years, and methods of its waste disposal; 2) to investigate and determine effective methods of waste disposal in the alcohol industry.

Prospects of using PET waste for environmentally friendly mineral fertilizers
(Publishing House of Lviv Polytechnic National University, 2016) Nagurskyy, Oleg; Malovanyy, Myroslav; Synelnikov, Sergij; Vahchuk, Viktorija
The article presents the technological possibility of using PET wastes for encapsulation of granulated mineral fertilizers. The schematic flowsheet is proposed to obtain film-forming composition. An encapsulated ammonium nitrate with predictable kinetics of fertilizer components release was obtained.

Experimentally it is proved that the degree of solution evaporation for the crystallization of sodium chloride contaminated only an admixture of potassium chloride should not exceed 29 %. The repulp washing of the obtained sediment in saturated sodium chloride solution was realized. It is enabled to obtain certified technical salt in the ratio between solid phase and liquid, which is equal to 1:1. In the ratios between solid phase and liquid, what are greater as 1:3, white salt highest quality has been obtained.
