Abstract
Possibility to use lignin as an alternative fuel in boilers of small-scale power engineering is analyzed.. Main sources of raw materials for lignin production, as well as characteristics of lignin are described. Features of lignin combustion and design concepts necessary for available boilers modernization are discussed.
