Ecological problems of enterprises of alcohol industry
(Видавництво Львівської політехніки, 2020-02-10) Havryshko, Marianna; Popovych, Olena; Yaremko, Halyna; Lviv Polytechnic National University
The issue of industrial water treatment and food waste disposal is particularly relevant, especially for the alcohol industry. The problem of wastewater treatment and waste accumulation in the process of alcohol production is due to high chemical and biological oxygen demand, specific colour and odour, a large number of suspended substances, low pH. Therefore, the choice of promising wastewater treatment technologies is of paramount importance to ensure the ecological safety of the environment. The purpose of the paper is 1) to analyze the state of the alcohol industry in Ukraine in recent years, and methods of its waste disposal; 2) to investigate and determine effective methods of waste disposal in the alcohol industry.

    Adsorptive desulfurization of industrial wastewatern
(Видавництво Львівської політехніки, 2020-02-10) Khudoyarova, Olga; Gordienko, Olga; Sydoruk, Tetiana; Titov, Taras; Petruk, Roman; Prokopchuk, Serhii; Vinnytsia Mykhailo Kotsiubynskyi State Pedagogical University; Vinnytsia National Technical University
An alternative method of purification of aqueous sulfide-alkaline effluents from sulfide and hydrosulfide ions by their adsorption with mixed sorbents based on activated charcoal and kieselguhr has been investigated. High adsorption efficiency of mixed sorbents for purification of model sulfide- and hydrosulfide-containing solutions has been established. The dependence of the extraction degree of sulfide and hydrosulfide ions from aqueous solutions on their concentration, adsorption time and sorbent mass used has been investigated. The surface of mixed sorbents after purification of sulfide-alkaline model solutions was investigated by X-ray analysis, and the presence of various modifications of sodium sulfide on the surface was shown. The scheme of adsorption treatment of industrial sewage with the use of mixed sorbents has been offered.

Theoretical and practical aspects of the efficiency of application of mineral fertilizers encapsulated with polyethylene terephthalate
(Видавництво Львівської політехніки, 2020-02-10) Synelnikov, Serhiy; Malovanyy, Myroslav; Nahurskyy, Oleh; Luchyt, Liubov; Petrushka, Kateryna; Tymchuk, Ivan; Stokaliuko, Oleh; Lviv Polytechnic National University; Lviv State University of Life Safety
The environmental impact of residual mineral fertilizers not utilized by plants is analyzed. It is shown that this negative effect extends to all elements of the environment: soil, atmosphere, hydrosphere. The perspective of the application of encapsulated mineral fertilizers that allow prolonged release of plant nutrients is outlined. The appliccation of modified polyethylene terephthalate (PETF) as a capsule-forming material for encapsulated mineral fertilizers is proposed. PET modification and fertilizer encapsulation technologies have been tested. The dynamics of the release of nutrients from fertilizers encapsulated by PET has been studied. The kinetics of watercress salad growth with the use of granular and encapsulated fertilizers has been investigated.

Determination of significant factors of landslide processes and flooding
(Видавництво Львівської політехніки, 2020-02-10) Katkov, Mykhailo; Malovanyy, Myroslav; Kotsiuba, Iryna; Senchuk, Tetyana; Lavinda, Maryna; Kharkiv National University of Urban Economy named after O. M. Beketov; Lviv Polytechnic National University; Zhytomyr Polytechnic State University
The linear dependence of some geological (significant) factors responsible for landslide and flooding processes on the cost of geotechnical surveys determining these factors was proved. The principle of selection of engineering-geological surveys, which assess the factors of occurrence of landslide and flooding with high probability, was developed. The possibility of identifying economic territories that may be susceptible to landslide and flooding processes based on already existing basic data of previously conducted engineering-geological surveys is substantiated. A preproject (planned) method of calculating the costs of geotechnical surveys based on the existing basic data is proposed.

Improvement of adsorption processes of wastewater treatment from nickel ions
(Видавництво Львівської політехніки, 2020-02-10) Petrushka, Ihor; Petrushka, Kateryna; Bliatnyk, Bohdanna; Lviv Polytechnic National University
The sorption properties of natural and complex sorbents for neutralization of Ni2+ ions from the water environment were studied. The isotherm of the adsorption of Ni2+ ions on complex sorbents (activated bentonite to shungite is 1:1) according to the Langmuir and Freundlich’s models was drawn; the type of adsorption isotherms according to the S. Brunauer’s classification was established. The values of the maximum sorption capacity of Гmax sorbents relative to Ni2+ ions were calculated. Based on the calculated coefficients of the Langmuir and Freundlich's equations, the specificity of the process of sorption of Nickel ions with the formation of a monomolecular layer was determined. The dependences of the degree of absorption of Ni2+ ions by complex sorbents on the duration of the sorption process were obtained. The ratio of solid state of matter (comprehensive sorbent) to liquid was experimentally determined.

Environmental pollution in the airport impact area–case study of the Boryspil international airport
(Видавництво Львівської політехніки, 2020-02-10) Radomska, Margaryta; Madzhd, Svitlana; Cherniak, Larysa; Mikhyeyev, Oleksandr; National Aviation University; Institute of Cell Biology and Genetic Engineering, NAS of Ukraine
The paper presents the analysis of soil and phytomass contamination due to the functioning of air transport. The major issues revealed include extremely high level of soil contamination with petroleum products and an increased content of heavy metals both in soil and phytomass. The toxicity testing has demonstrated considerable pathogenic potential of soil from the airport area.

Problem of disposal of organochlorine waste of vinyl chloride production
(Видавництво Львівської політехніки, 2020-02-10) Vasiychuk, Viktor; Kuchera, Yaroslav; Matskiv, Olena; Nahurskyy, Oleh; Kachan, Stepan; Lviv Polytechnic National University
The sources of organochlorine waste formation, its toxicity, and environmental impact are analyzed, and methods of its disposal are considered. The composition of insoluble compounds in the stillage residues of the dichloroethane rectification stage before incineration is determined, and the method of their extraction is proposed. It is established that the use of oxalic and hydrochloric acids as extractants significantly reduces the iron content in the stillage residues of the rectification column, which allows increasing the duration of operation of the organochlorine waste incineration equipment.

Investigation of the process of ammonium ion adsorption by natural and synthetic sorbents by methods of multidimensional cluster analysis
(Видавництво Львівської політехніки, 2020-02-10) Sabadash, Vira; Gumnitsky, Yaroslav; Liuta, Oksana; Lviv Polytechnic National University
The results of the research of the adsorption capacity of a number of sorbents of natural and synthetic origin for ammonium ions have been clustered. The natural zeolite of the Sokyrnytsia deposit, a synthetic sorbent based on the fly ash of Dobrotvir state district heat power plant, Al2O3, SiO2, as well as some types of soil: sandy soil, black soil, and clay were used in the research. Equations describing the regularities of adsorption processes depending on the type of sorbent were obtained. According to the obtained dendrograms, two main clusters of sorbents were identified. The statistical parameters of the process and the significance of the obtained results were calculated. The coefficient of determination of the experimental data was 0.67–0.99, the standard deviation was 0.017–0.026.
