Community archives in libraries as a tool for building local and social identity

Abstract

Libraries, as institutions operating in a social environment and performing various functions within it, are constantly developing their activities and undertaking new initiatives. One of them is the creation of community archives in partnership with local communities. This activity is one of the libraries’ new functions and contributes to increasing its social impact. This article aims to introduce this activity and its role in building local identity, as well as civil society.
