Open Educational Resources as a Tool for International Academic Support for Ukraine

Abstract

This paper discusses the role of Open Educational Resources (OER) in supporting academic resilience during crises, focusing on Ukraine’s experience amidst wartime disruption. Drawing on the DAAD funded project "OER with Ukraine," the study highlights how accessible, licensed educational content has offered critical opportunities for both students and displaced educators. Additionally, the cooperation with Universitätsallianz Ruhr through the DniPRONrw project provides Ukrainian lecturers and students with access to digital courses and fosters international academic exchange. These initiatives demonstrate how open-access digital materials and AI-supported learning practices help maintain educational continuity in challenging conditions.
