Метафора як засіб увиразнення вислову в політичному дискурсі

Abstract

The article deals with the current problem of metaphorical speech in political discourse, outlines the most important functions of metaphor in the politicians speech. It is revealed that the metaphor performs many functions: cognitive (helps to recognize new knowledge), communicative (realizes concrete intentions of the communication subject, causing illumination or muffling of the necessary aspects of the content), pragmatic (allows to conceal the true intentions of the speaker, exhibits it in the most favorable light , minimizing or hyperbolizing the problem).
