Медична термінологія в суспільнополітичному дискурсі (на прикладі статті Ліни Костенко “Україна як жертва і чинник глобалізації катастроф”)

Abstract

Metaphorical rethought in political discourse is investigated due to the material of Lina Kostenko’s article “Ukraine as a victim and factor of globalization of catastrophes”. Medical terminology is an effective means of expressing thoughts, as the author tries to use well-known, more understandable objects, which in our case are medical terms, to comprehend obscure, complex concepts. In addition to the artistic goal – to saturate the text with interesting, bright, accurate, and emotional phrases, the use of metaphorically rethought medical terms becomes an important tool to influence the perception of the text by the audience.
