dc.description.abstract | Abstract – The bromination of activated carbon as a method of the surface functionalization of carbon materials was investigated. It was found that the bromination with an aqueous solution of Br2•KBr is accompanied by the oxidation of the surface. The influence of the surface oxidation and heat treatment on the bromination of activated carbon samples was examined. It was found that the heat treatment can partially or fully recover the reactivity of the surface of the oxidized carbon materials by removing the oxygen-containing functional groups. | uk_UA |
