This paper presents the simulation results of a grid-connected windmill driven doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) together with some machine performance results. The model was prepared by using of widely known ATP-EMTP program. The construction of a dynamic model of a DFIG is similar to a wound rotor induction machine. The transient current, electromechanical torque, and active and reactive power are derived taking into account the generator rotor speed change. The simulation results obtained from the analysis are also included. The presented model is considered as a first step to preparing the program tools for investigation of the influence of wind driven generators on local grid protection and automation.uk_UA
