    Концепт ЧАС/TIME в українській та англійській мовах (на матеріалі корпусів текстів)

    In the article the peculiarities of time perception reflexed in the Ukrainian and English languages are analyzed. Notional and figurative components of the ЧАС/TIME concept are distinguished, described and compared. The study of dictionary entries and etymology of words naming the concept is conducted. Contextual usage is analyzed based on English and Ukrainian corpora. Attributes of time reflexed in both languages, words denoting the ЧАС/TIME concept and conceptual metaphors are distinguished.

    This article analyzes the images of poetic works of Sylvia Plath. Plath's poetry gives a vision of life as enhanced by death. Her elegant and controlled style belied her images of anger, violence, and pain. Her finest work is the poetic realization of ultimate love and ultimate death.
