Prospects for biogas – leaders' experience helps Ukraine
(Lviv Polytechnic Publishing House, 2016) Muzychak, Andriy; Vlasenko, Mykhailo; Lviv Polytechnic National University
Modern trends development of world energy sector is following the strategy of sustainable development. It includes reduce overall energy consumption, significant changes in the structure of the energy sector and replacement of traditional energy to alternative and renewable energy sources. Promising sources are solar power and biomass particularly biogas. Ukraine has significant potential for biogas production.

Smart lighting for corridors of an educational institution building
(Видавництво Львівської політехніки, 2017-12-23) Medvid, Roman; Muzychak, Andriy; Lviv Polytechnic National University
In summer 2017 the law of Ukraine «On Energy Efficiency of Buildings» came into force. The law demands obligatory certification of energy efficiency of state-owned buildings. Therefore it is necessary to increase energy efficiency that includes the implementation of a number of organizational and technical measures. The main organizational measure is the introduction of a system of energy management in an educational institution. Technical measures mean the introduction of modern energy-use technologies, in particular, smart technologies. The basis of smart technologies is a mini computer like Raspberry Pi or microcontroller Arduino. The advantage of smart power management systems is their scalability and the ability to integrate with other systems (security, fire safety). In the article is shown an example of using the smart system in a lighting of educational institution building.

Implementation of biogas plants at food industry enterprises
(Видавництво Львівської політехніки, 2017-12-23) Vlasenko, Mykhailo; Muzychak, Andriy; Lviv Polytechnic National University
According to the Energy Strategy of Ukraine for the period up to 2035, the priority direction of domestic energy development is renewable energy sources. Biogas is one of the most promising renewable energy sources, whose potential in Ukraine is significant. The distribution of biogas plants will also contribute to the improvement of the ecological situation in the country. The implementation of a biogas plant at the yeast production enterprise is shown in the work. The biogas plant is based on an anaerobic digestion process. The payback period of the biogas plant is less than three years.

Definition factors cubic approximating polynomial for locking characteristics of steel pipelines
(Lviv Polytechnic Publishing House, 2015) Muzychak, Andriy; Pasternak, Roman; Lviv Polytechnic National University
An important part of mathematical models of hydraulic state engineering grids is locking ratio. Traditionally it represent a cubic approximation polynomial, which adequately reproduce locking characteristics of pipelines of various diameters and materials. Defined simple functions to determine the factors of the approximation polynomial based on the diameter. These functions are a convenient tool to obtain baseline data necessary in mathematical models of engineering grids.

The influence of «cross-subvention» on economic efficiency of thermal insulation of buildings
(Lviv Polytechnic Publishing House, 2015) Muzychak, Andriy; Voznyakovska, Olya; Lviv Polytechnic National University
Influence of «cross-subvention» on economic efficiency thermal insulation of buildings is viewed. The optimum thickness of thermal insulation for each tariff group is calculated. Awarded the negative role of the modern tariff policy. It is shown that to improve the attractiveness of the energy efficiency measures required state participation. The proportion of state compensation must be up to the «crosssubvention».
