The proposed technique facilitates the writing of parallel algorithms based on graphs by usage of the Actor and the Valiant's Bulk-Synchronous Parallel models. This approach differs by determinism of algorithms, by resilience to different faults and by higher level of abstraction that makes a developer free from implementation details introduced by parallel and concurrent programming primitives.Item Authenticity of digital images(Видавництво Львівської політехніки, 2013) Hanzlik, Lucjan; Wodo, WojciechCopyrights are a big issue these days, it is extremely easy to loose our intellectual property (in sense of digital images) and thus money, moreover it is hard to proof our rights in the court. Our digital pictures must be protected in such a manner that it should be easy to proof we are the legitimate owner of the image and it should be computationally hard to forge such proof. We present a sketch of a new solution for copyright protection of digital images using chameleon hash functions, signatures and steganography. It is an extension of previous work in this field. We introduce a probabilistic similarity method into our scheme, which convince the verifier at certain level about the owner of the picture.Item Reccurence plots parameters during epileptic seizure patterns onset(Видавництво Львівської політехніки, 2013) Popov, Anton; Topikha, OleksandrThe purpose of the paper is to investigate the applicability of recurrence plots paremeters for early detection of epileptic seizures. Trends of Recurrence Rate and Determinism of electroencephalogram recurrence plots are calculated for different time windows. Experiments show that both parameters start to grow approximately 250 seconds in advance of epileptic seizure activity onset for time window of 5 minutes.Item Some aspects of studying of high performance technologies by Moldavian young researchers(Видавництво Львівської політехніки, 2013) Petic, Mircea; Titchiev, Inga; Frinea, Irina; Iliuha, Nicolai; Macari, VeaceslavAim of this article is to present an overview of the project for young researchers - “Systems and Technologies of Distributed Processing of Information and evaluating the effectiveness of their Use” and show which are the goals of project what has been achieved until moment and what are the expected results. The description of available at the Institute of Mathematics and Computer Science HPC infrastructure, adopted methodology and stages of achievment are given. A special compartiment is devoted to workflow Petri nets in modeling of parallel processes. The main purpose of the study is to fully analyse structure, lexis and pragmatics of American immigration acts. During the analysis the genre of immigration act was defined. There is a generalized system of the electronic encyclopedia formation in this article. It reveals the essence of the each life cycle stage. It is justified the choice of knowledge extraction from open texts for the encyclopedic conten formation.Item Image classification and retrieval by color concentration features(Видавництво Львівської політехніки, 2013) Melnyk, Roman; Hryha, ІvanThe method for distributed features of visual pattern extracted from intensity fragments and segments is considered. The features of intensity, pixel coordinates and mixed ones are calculated. Some main image features as well as results of similar patterns searching from known databases are presented.Item The construction of a formal model of an information object in digital library(Видавництво Львівської політехніки, 2013) Novytskyi, OleksandrThe article presents a model of a digital library informational object that aims to preserve and provide access to scientific resources. As a formal representation a UML class diagram is used, to identify semantic and logical contradictions in this diagram is proposed to express it by means of description logic.Item Verbalization of communicative strategies and tactics in the speech genre of parliamentary debate (based on debates in the House of Commons on March 25, 2013)(Видавництво Львівської політехніки, 2013) Artym, KhrystynaThe article focuses on communication between members of parliament, viewed as a strategic process. It provides a comprehensive research into lingual-and-pragmatic features of parliamentary debate as a specific genre of political discourse. The argumentative strategy is regarded as the central component of the communicative model of debate. It is implemented through a number of tactics. Communicative moves, linguistic and speech means of their realization are analyzed. The research suggests theoretical and practical perspectives and directions for future research, while the comprehensive classification of communicative strategies and tactics still does not exist.Item Organisation natural language sentences using logic-linguistic models(Видавництво Львівської політехніки, 2013) Vavilenkova, NastyaThe article considers the approaches used for semantic analysis of text information: finite state transition network and content analysis. With growth of process order the matrix size increases rapidly and a lot of resources are needed to store it, although many of its elements are zero. In this paper we propose to split states of Markov processes to "fictitious" depending on the model order, which can significantly reduce the size of the transition probability matrix.Item Development the hybrid code metric for software reliability analysis(Видавництво Львівської політехніки, 2013) Yakovyna, Vitaliy; Buta, VasylA hybrid code metric to evaluate the software reliability that takes into account the relative cost of software development at different stages of the lifecycle has been developed. This allows to analyse the software reliability at the early lifecycle stages.Item English poetry analysis with the assistance of database(Видавництво Львівської політехніки, 2013) Bondaruk, OlenaThe article illustrates the role of database application in linguistic researches, namely in master theses at the applied linguistics department of Lviv National Polytechnic University. The novelty of the analysis lies in exploring the linguistic phenomena using the database management systems. The analysis is exemplified by the exploration of database that is used to resolve the linguistic issues and to optimize the examination of lexical features of English poetry in the late 16th - early 17th centuries.
