Проблемы словообразования в литовской терминологии

Abstract

Термінологія та словотворення перебувають в тісному контакті. Терміни - це назви понять, тому термінологію передусім цікавить утворення іменників. Підсистема утворення іменників багата й складна. Критерії кодифікації нових термінів викладено у стандарті № 704:2000 Міжнародної організації стандартів. Але через складність системи словотворення, вплив інших мов, недостатню кваліфікацію споживачів, швидкозмінний спосіб життя деякі словотвірні моделі змішують, деякі виходять з обігу, з’являються нові моделі. За цими процесами мають пильно наглідати лінвісти та фахівці- термінологи.

Terminology and word formation are closely interrelated. Terms are names of the concepts, and therefore only the noun formation is relevant for the terminology. The noun formation in Lithuanian is very rich and complex. Based on the requirements of ISO 704:2000, one should use the capacity of word formation system as much as possible. However there are some problems which arise due to the complexity of word formation system in Lithuanian and certain incompetence of the users. The influence of foreign languages and the lack of certain word formation skills cause the mixing of word formation models. On the other hand, some models loose productivity and the new models evolve due to certain changes in social life. The aforementioned phenomena should be borne in mind by the general linguists as well as terminologists.
