    Formation of agrophysical properties in the affected soils of recultivated areas

    The work studied the process of forming agrophysical properties of sod-podzolic soil on reclaimed territories after opencast mines. It is established that in case of withdrawal, reclaimed land from agricultural use, the 30-year period after the remediation is insufficient to restore agrophysical parameters and condition of disturbed soil due to natural factors of soil formation. The residual effects of its physical degradation manifested in changing the parameters of structural state, density, porosity, and as a result, the quantitative characteristics of water-physical constants and forms of moisture content of the ground.

    Space-functional role of consortiums of ecotones of protective type to ensure the environmental safety on railway lines

    A multi-factor analysis of the impact of the Lviv Railway transport on the environment takes into account the properties of natural systems: multiple connections, stability, commutability, additivity, invariability as well as multivariable correlation of nature components. One of the important steps towards ensuring environmental safety in the railway transport is the formation of ecologically balanced system of nature management on the basis of environmentally clean technologies. A fundamentally new model of environmental safety in railway transport is of great polyfunctional importance as this enables, on the basis of the landscapeecological methods, to form consortiums of protective ecotones that will provide the maximum spatial-temporal efficacy.

    The characteristic’s impact on environment of laminated product’s plants

    We developed an ecological estimation of the influence of production on the environment. The methods of cleaning of the polluted gaseous environment were analyzed as well as the technological 4-stage plan of cleaning the flue gas from the coal ashes and SO2 was proposed.

    Radioecological monitoring of water resources in the Chernobyl exclusion zone

    The general characteristic of water resources of the Chernobyl exclusion zone is presented. Methods of radiological monitoring of groundwater in Chernobyl exclusion zone is given. Monitoring results can be used for prediction the state of pollution and they are the basis for calculations of radionuclide migration in the Dnipro cascade. In closed ponds of exclusion zone for many years will be kept high levels of water pollution. The main factor in the selfcleaning of none closed water objects from pollution are internal processes and sedimentation in the soil. Water objects to compared with closed ponds relatively quickly cleared from radionuclides by constant washout.

    Monitoring of performance of the municipal wastewater treatment facilities

    The paper has engaged monitoring of performance of the municipal wastewater treatment facilities of Lviv by analyzing the average monthly data of their operation, obtained in a chemico-bacteriological laboratory of the Lviv City Utility Enterprise "Lvivvodokanal". Also, performance of aerotanks of the same facilities has been studied by carrying out check measurements of the concentration of dissolved oxygen and ammonium in them.
